Kedarkantha Trek – Winter Wonderland of Uttarakhand

The Kedarkantha Trek is one of the most popular winter treks in India, offering breathtaking 360° views of snow-covered Himalayan peaks. Starting from the quaint village of Sankri, the trail takes you through dense pine forests, frozen streams, and open meadows, leading up to the summit at 12,500 ft.

Known as the "Queen of Winter Treks", Kedarkantha is perfect for beginners as well as seasoned trekkers. The campsites — Juda Ka Talab, Kedarkantha Base, and the summit ridge — are considered some of the most beautiful in the Himalayas.

Tour Plan

Drive from Dehradun to Sankri (approx. 8–9 hrs). Enjoy scenic views of Yamuna & Tons rivers. Overnight stay at guesthouse/homestay in Sankri.
Trek 4 km to Juda Ka Talab (9,000 ft). Camp beside the frozen lake surrounded by pine forests. Evening campfire & overnight stay in tents.
Trek 4 km through snowfields to Kedarkantha Base (11,200 ft). Magnificent views of Swargarohini peaks. Overnight camping at base.
Early morning summit push (4 km). Witness a breathtaking sunrise from the top. Descend back to base camp and further down to Sankri. Overnight stay.
Drive back to Dehradun with wonderful memories of the Kedarkantha trek.
